Armed police called to 'man with sword' in Torpoint

Armed police are called to reports of a man with a sword in south east Cornwall.

Officers got the shout to Torpoint on Friday afternoon.

They were scrambled to a property in the Anthony Road area just before 2pm.

A 32-year-old local man has been arrested and remains in custody.

"Police were notified at around 1.50pm following reports of a man with a sword at a property on Antony Road in Torpoint.

"Armed officers attended the scene.

"A 32-year-old man from Torpoint has been arrested and is in police custody."
