Driver trapped as car plunges 15ft down bank

A driver has had to cut free after a car ploughed 15ft down a bank in Cornwall.

The vehicle flipped over off the A388 near Stoke Climsland on Saturday evening.

Firefighters from Launceston, Callington and Bodmin rushed to the scene.

The casualty was stretchered through fields to a waiting ambulance.

However, Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service has not released any further details about their condition.

"On receipt of a call to Critical Control to a vehicle overturned with the driver still trapped inside appliances from Callington, Launceston and Bodmin Fire Stations were mobilised along with a Flexi-Duty Officer.

"The vehicle was located 15 foot down a bank with the driver still trapped inside.

"The crew stabilised the vehicle for paramedic access.

"The crew released the casualty from the vehicle using crash rescue equipment and then assisted with extrication on a longboard through fields to a waiting ambulance.

"Police were also on scene".
