Fires in Cornish town centre branded as 'mindless behaviour'

Published by Sarah Yeoman at 12:15pm 27th January 2020.

Two fires in a Cornish town centre have been branded as 'vandalism and mindless behaviour'.

Firefighters say two blazes were started in Lostwithiel last Wednesday night.

It is believed that the fires could be arson and now a warning has gone out about that cab risk lives.

Police have been informed about both the incident and anyone with information is asked to come forward.

A warning has gone out after two fires were started in Lostwithiel town centre

"Last night between 7pm and 10pm two separate fires were started within the town of Lostwithiel.

"Thankfully neither of the fires developed and fire crews were not required.

"However this isn’t always going to be the case, and next time this act of vandalism and mindless behaviour could have a very different outcome.

"If you see or know of any individual/individuals who are deliberately starting fires please call 101 and report this.

"Arson is a serious offence with sometimes fatal outcomes. The police have been notified of last nights events."
