Parts of the Westcountry have woken up to the white stuff, as snow causes chaos on the A30.

Flurries, hail and ice have sparked multiple crashes on Bodmin Moor, Okehampton and Sourton Down.

Police have issued a warning, urging drivers to watch out for slush on the roads.

Webcam photos show snow having settled across parts of Dartmoor.

However wintry showers have also affected parts of Cornwall, with hail showers reported as far west as Carbis Bay.

What is the forecast?

The Met Office has issued several ice and snow warning for the north of England.

There are no official alerts in place for the south-west, but forecasters say more wintry showers could be on the cards.

Tuesday: "A windy day with brighter spell and some showers likely throughout. These showers could fall as snow over higher ground, with some hail possible at times. Feeling cold, especially in the wind. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Tuesday night: "Any showers will continue into the evening, but the majority of the night will be clear which will lead to a dip in temperatures and ice and frost patches forming. Minimum temperature 0 °C.

Wednesday: "A chilly and potentially icy start. Some bright spells are likely through the morning, but clouding over later. Maximum temperature 11 °C

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday: "Breezy throughout and often cloudy with occasional spells of rain at times. Gradually turning milder".
