Four-year-old girl injured after 'dog attack' in Penzance

Police say a four-year-old girl has been left with injuries to her face after a 'dog attack' in Penzance.

The little girl was reportedly bitten by a black and white collie in the town centre.

Officers say the dog was said to be 'dangerously out of control' at the time.

It happened on Market Jew Street on Friday 20th December but the details have only just been released.

Now police want to trace and speak to the owners.

CCTV has been released of two people officers want to speak to and anyone with information is asked to get in touch.

"Police in Cornwall are appealing for witnesses of a dog attack on a small child in Penzance town centre.

"A four-year-old girl has been left with facial injuries after being bitten by a black and white collie type dog which was reportedly dangerously out of control at the time.

"The incident occurred outside Tesco Express on Market Jew Street on Friday 20th December at around 10.40am.

"Officers would like to trace and speak with the owner so the dog can be assessed.

"Police are keen to speak to the man and woman pictured because they believe they could have information that could assist with their enquiries."

Anyone who may know the man or woman in the image, or witnessed the incident, is asked to contact police on 101 quoting crime reference number, CR/114241/19.
