This is the moment pods of 50+ dolphins were filmed making a splash in St Ives Bay.

The playful creatures were filmed leaping and diving in the middle of last week and over the weekend.

Photographer Chris Oates says Coastguards spotted up to 70, but he reckons there were hundreds!

Posting the photos on Facebook, Chris said the Common Dolphins were mostly out towards Godrevy.

However, he added that some came as close as the island and he had only ever seen so many once before.

Then there is this video, shared by the Carbis Bay Hotel after being posted by Cheryl Chambers on Instagram!

"Today my life feels complete and it's only 11am.

"10 years I've lived here and I finally saw not 1 but 2 pods of dolphins".
