Police investigating the death of a teenage cyclist in Cornwall say they have 'identified potential witnesses'

Caitlin Swan was out cycling near Stithians when her bicycle was caught in a collision with a van.

The 14-year-old from the Truro area lost her life just days after Christmas.

The incident happened on Tubbon Hill on the afternoon of Saturday 28th December.

Officers had been trying to trace the occupants of a Land Rover for possible dashcam footage.

Devon and Cornwall Police have since confirmed that the potential witnesses have been identified.

"As a direct result of an appeal made yesterday (Thursday 30th January), police investigating a fatal collision near Stithians, Cornwall, have now identified potential witnesses in a Land Rover Discovery 3.

"There is no suggestion that the Land Rover was involved in the collision on 28 December, 2019.

"It was believed its occupants could have information or dashcam footage which could help with the investigation.

"Enquiries continue into the incident.

"Police have thanked the public for their assistance with the appeal".
