Woman airlifted to hospital after car overturns

A woman has been airlifted to hospital after a car overturned in Cornwall.

The vehicle ended up in a hedge on the A390 at Lostwithiel on Sunday morning.

Police, paramedics, firefighters and the air ambulance were all called to the scene at around 8.30am.

Crash rescue equipment was used to free the woman. She suffered a broken arm but is expected to make a full recovery.

"Police were called to a single RTC involving a car which had overturned and ended up in a hedge on the A390 near Pelvyn Vets. 

"A woman sustained a broken arm in the incident which occurred at around 8.30am on Sunday, February 2nd. 

"She was taken to Derriford Hospital via air ambulance and is expected to make a full recovery. 

"Road closures/diversions were put in place for most of the morning."

Road closures were put in place across the morning on Sunday.

"One appliance from Lostwithiel and the rescue tender from Bodmin responded to this incident. On arrival a road traffic collision was discovered. 

"Firefighters used crash rescue equipment to release one person. Police and Ambulance were also in-attendance."
