Police warning as warrants are carried out around east Cornwall

Police have issued a warning after a series of warrants around east Cornwall.

St Austell Police say they are targeting county lines drugs supply.

They posted on Facebook that a number of people are now in custody.

Pirate FM understands that armed officers have been spotted in several locations on Tuesday.

"Officers from DC Police including neighbourhood team carried out a number of warrants today in St Austell targeting county lines drugs supply.

"A number of persons are in custody.

"Our message to the public, we are listening to your concerns and we are taking action.

"Our message to the drug suppliers, it may be you we target next."

The Devon and Cornwall force says it is unable to provide further details 'for operational reasons'.

"Officers are carrying out warrants in the East Cornwall area today. 

"At this time we are unable to provide further details for operational reasons."
