Coastguard rescuers and a helicopter have been scouring the north coast of Cornwall for a missing woman.

Lisa Goodman was last seen between Newquay and Tintagel on Monday afternoon.

Police say fears are growing for the 48-year-old's safety.

Newquay Lifeboat has also been involved in the operation, that is now entering its THIRD day.

Devon and Cornwall Police are urging anyone with information about Lisa's whereabouts to call 999 straight away.

"Team tasked to back up Newquay Coastguard on behalf of South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust, and with assistance of Devon & Cornwall Police to search for a missing person. Newquay RNLI Lifeboats were also launched, into difficult conditions.

"Ambulance control had reports of this person to be in the Watergate area, but with extra assistance, this search was widened to include up to Lusty Glaze and Mawgan Porth.

"This person has now been named as 48-year-old Lisa Goodman. She is 5ft 5', medium build with long brown hair.

"Search teams were sent in both directions with both Watergate and Porth as a starting point. Police helicopter Oscar99 was also requested to help with the location of the casualty. Edge safety officers in cliff harnesses were set up to view the more difficult areas.

"Through communications with ambulance control, and police, further information became known and it was suggested that the missing person was not in the direct area, but perhaps more towards Tintagel.

"Ongoing investigations for her whereabouts are continuing between Newquay and Bude.

"With this considered to be the most up-to-date information, both lifeboats were stood down, and all search teams recalled.

"Both Coastguard teams were then stood down, and returned to their respective stations at 1715hrs, and were back on station ready for any retasking by 1800hrs".
