An urgent stay away from the coast alert has been issued as Storm Ciara hits Cornwall.

Coastguards and the RNLI are urging people to steer well clear as high tide approaches.

Pirate FM told you surfing website magicseaweed had predicted 24ft waves around the north coast.

Scroll down to check the latest weather and flood warnings for Cornwall, as gales of up to 80mph hit.

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency, Devon and Cornwall Police and Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service have also issued warnings, saying no 'storm selfie' is worth a life.

"Today's a day for staying warm, dry and toasty.

"Please stay well away from cliff edges - they will be slippery and unstable and don't risk your life going near the sea".

Maritime and Coastguard Agency

The Environment Agency has warned that even where no flood alerts are in force, people could still be at risk.

"Where no flooding is forecast the coast will still be a dangerous place to be during Storm Ciara.

"Over-topping, coastal erosion, instability & damage to sea defences can all occur during storms".

Nick Ely, Environment Agency

What flood and weather warnings are still in force?
