Rush-hour crash causes chaos on Cornwall's A30

One person has been taken to hospital after the rush-hour crash that brought Cornwall's A30 to a standstill.

Two vehicles were caught in the collision near Mitchell during Monday's drive to work.

The westbound carriageway was blocked, heading towards Carland Cross roundabout.

Police have since confirmed that one casualty was taken to hospital, suffering from minor injuries.

"Police were called to a two-vehicle RTC at around 8.30am this morning on the A30 westbound at Carland Cross roundabout.

"Recovery for both vehicles is being arranged.

"The incident is ongoing.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson added: "One person was taken to hospital with minor injuries".

Traffic was reported to be at a standstill but Inrix has since confirmed the road has cleared.

"Queueing traffic due to earlier accident. Two vehicles involved on A30 Westbound from A3076 (Mitchell turn-off, Mitchell) to A39 (Carland Cross, Carland Cross).

"All lanes have been re-opened.

"The road reopened around 09:40am".
