Man in hospital after alleged assault in Redruth

A man has been taken to hospital after an alleged assault in Redruth.

Police and paramedics were called to the Penryn Street area on Thursday night.

The casualty was taken to Treliske but his injury is not believed to be life-threatening.

A 45-year-old woman from Camborne was charged and appeared before Bodmin Magistrates on Saturday.

In a statement police said: "Police were notified at around 10.20pm on Thursday 6th February, to reports of an incident of serious assault at a property on Penryn Street in Redruth. 

"Ambulance Services attended the scene and a man was taken to Tresliske Hospital in a stable condition with a suspected puncture wound, his injury is not believed to be life threatening."

They added: " A 45-year-old from Camborne, was charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and appeared in Bodmin Magistrates Court on Saturday 8th February."
