Casualty taken to hospital after a flat fire in Truro

One person has been pulled from a burning flat in Truro, after a late night fire.

Firefighters had reports of someone trapped at Rosedale Road.

Crews from the city, Tolvaddon and Perranporth were scrambled in the early hours.

The casualty was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service received multiple 999 calls and say an investigation will be carried out on Thursday.

"At 0030 the Critical Control Centre received multiple calls to reports of a flat fire with persons believed to be inside. 

"Crews from Truro, Tolvaddon and Perranporth we mobilized to this incident along with a wholetime officer. 

"On arrival firefighters using breathing apparatus entered the property with a hose real. 

"One casualty has been rescued and is in the care of ambulance. 

"Crews have now left seen. 

"A fire investigation will take place tomorrow".
