Fresh appeal to find young man missing for two and a half years

Published by Sarah Yeoman at 1:38pm 17th February 2020.

A fresh appeal has gone out to try and find a missing young man from Cornwall - who is now 20.

Finnian Layland-Stratfield, known as Finn, disappeared near Tintagel two and a half years ago back in July 2017

Finn, who was 17 at the time, was last seen by a hiker near a youth hostel above Hole Beach.

Since then, family, friends and the police have carried out extensive searches around the coast, but he has never been found.

Mum Bek is not giving up hope and is urging anyone who might have any information at all to come forward.

She posted on Facebook: "This is my son Finn who has been missing for 31 months.

"He was last seen in North Cornwall on the 8th July 2017. Finn is 20 years old now. He is a caring & intelligent young man who we love be & miss very much.

"You can help us to continue raise awareness of Finn by sharing this post publicly, it only takes a few seconds & is much appreciated.

"If you have any info about Finn please call Missing People on 116000, free & confidential 24/7"

After Finn was registered missing with Missing People, the appeal to try to find Finn has been shared nationwide.

Missing People says it is "the only charity in the UK which is dedicated to bringing missing children and adults back together with their families."

Finn's mum Bek has since raised thousands of pounds to help the charity.

The site has a page dedicated to Finn which says:

"Finn we are here for you whenever you are ready; we can listen, talk you through what help you need, pass a message for you and help you to be safe."

You can read more information and find out how to report any possible sightings of Finn here.
