Police think a dog walker could hold clues over the death of a pedestrian in Redruth.

It is after the 67-year-old local man was caught in a crash with a car on Tolgus Wartha.

Officers are trying to trace a woman who was nearby when it happened yesterday evening.

They are also urging anyone with dashcam footage from Tuesday morning to come forward.

"At approximately 9.25pm on Tuesday 18 February, police received a call stating there had been a road traffic collision on Tolgus Wartha in Redruth, Cornwall, involving a pedestrian and a car.

"Numerous South Western Ambulance Service resources attended the scene.

"Tragically, a 67-year-old male local to the Redruth area died at the scene of the collision. His next-of-kin have been informed.

"Local police officers, operations department officers and specialist officers from the Roads Policing Team attended the scene, closed the road and launched a full forensic examination.

"Police are appealing for any witnesses, or anyone with information and or dash-cam footage, to come forward, unless they have already been in contact with officers at the scene.

"Police are also keen to hear from a female who was walking her dog in the area and witnessed the collision as she may have key evidence that could assist the investigation".
