Urgent appeal after serious-injury crash in Cornwall

Police have confirmed a young biker remains in a critical condition after a crash near St Ives.

The 30-year-old man was rushed to hospital after the motorbike collision at Carbis Bay.

He suffered serious head injuries on Beach Road in the early hours of Saturday morning.

It happened just after 1am and anyone with dashcam footage is being urged to come forward.

"At approximately 0110am on Saturday 22nd February 2020, Devon and Cornwall Police received a report of a road traffic collision on Beach Road, Carbis Bay, involving a motorcycle. 

"South Western Ambulance Service Trust resources attended the scene.

"A 30-year-old male local to Carbis Bay received serious head injuries at the scene of the collision.

"Local police officers, operations department officers and specialist officers from the Roads Policing Team attended the scene, closed the road and launched a full examination".

On Monday, Devon and Cornwall Police said: "The casualty was in a critical but stable condition on Saturday evening".

Police are appealing for witnesses with any information and/or dash camera footage to please come forward.

The police incident number is 63, dated 22nd February 2020.
