Police search after reports of man with knife

A police search has been carried out amid reports of a man carrying a knife in St Austell.

Officers say several men were stopped near the train station just before Sunday lunchtime.

They have confirmed no blade was found.

However, St Austell Police say one person was carrying a knife and will now be 'dealt with'.

"Just before lunchtime today a call was received about a male walking around with a knife in St Austell. 

"Officers from B Section and the Neighbourhood Team responded and several males were stopped near the fire station. 

"All were searched. No knife was located but one had a knuckle duster.

"He will be dealt with for this".
