Woman dies after 'police incident' in Camborne

Police have confirmed a woman has died after an incident in Camborne.

Officers were called to concerns for a woman's welfare at a property on Wesley Street.

Cordons were put in place just after 6am on Monday.

A woman was found dead at the scene and her family has been told.

Devon and Cornwall Police have since confirmed that a 47-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Police have confirmed a woman has died after an early morning incident in Camborne.

"Police were called to a property in Wesley Street, Camborne, at 6.10am this morning following reports of concern for the welfare of a woman inside an address.

"Emergency services attended the scene where the woman was sadly confirmed deceased.

"Her next of kin have been informed.

"A 47-year-old man from Camborne has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody at this time.

"A scene guard and police cordon remain in place whilst enquires are ongoing.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting log 80 2/3/20".

Officers say a man in his 40s from Camborne has since been arrested on suspicion of murder.

A scene guard was put outside the property on Wesley Street, which has now been reopened in both directions.

"A3047 Wesley Street in both directions re-opened, traffic easing, police incident over between Kerrier Way Roundabout and The Vyvyan Arms.

"The incident has been ongoing since around 06:00 this morning, by the junction with Albert Street.

"This is the road near Tesco and the Wesleyan Church."
