Police update over woman's death in Camborne

Police have been given more time to question a man who was arrested after the death of a woman in Camborne.

Officers were called to concerns for a person's welfare on Wesley Street.

They later confirmed a casualty in her 40s had died and her family knows.

A 47-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of murder.

Devon and Cornwall Police say a Superintendents' Custody Extension is now in place, which can add up to 12 hours.

Police have been given more time to question a man arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of a woman in Camborne.

As of Tuesday morning, a scene guard remained outside the property on Wesley Street.

Police are urging anyone who saw something at around 6am on Monday to come forward.

"Police were called to a property in Wesley Street, Camborne, at 6.10am on Monday 2 March following reports of concern for the welfare of a woman inside an address.

"Emergency services attended the scene where the woman, aged in her 40s, she was sadly confirmed deceased. Her next of kin have been informed.

"A 47-year-old man from Camborne was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody at this time.

"A scene guard and police cordon remain in place whilst enquires are ongoing.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting log 80 2/3/20".
