New images have been released to show how Langarth Garden Village and the Stadium for Cornwall could look once completed.

The aerial image of the site on the outskirts of Truro gives a clear indication of how the development could look in the future.

It was displayed at community engagement events held in and around Truro last week to give people a chance to see the masterplan for the garden village and voice their thoughts to Cornwall Council.

Under the masterplan Langarth Garden Village would have around 3,500 homes along with new schools, medical facilities, shops, hotels, care homes, pubs, restaurants, public open space and sports facilities.

The Garden Village site also takes in the Stadium for Cornwall which would be a new home for the Cornish Pirates rugby union team and Truro City Football Club.

It would also provide conference and hospitality facilities equipped for training by Truro and Penwith College.

The stadium is also set to be available for other sports teams for use.

In the new aerial image you can clearly see the stadium next to the park and ride and it also shows a large area of green open space.

The masterplan exhibited last week stated that it was based on there being 3,500 homes across the garden village with 1,225 being affordable.

It also stated that 45% of the land across the site would remain green, including a large open space to the north which would be protected against future development.

The masterplan also includes the planting of 50 hectares of trees which would be part of the countywide Forest for Cornwall plan.

While the community engagement events last week have finished there is an online survey available for anyone interested in giving their views and all the display boards shown at the event are also available online.
