Car 'flips over' in crash near Chiverton Cross

A pregnant woman has been taken to hospital after a car flipped over on the main road from Chiverton Cross to Newquay.

The A3075 at Penhallow was shut in both directions, not far from the Perranporth turning.

Police were called to the scene with a vehicle on its roof just before 9am on Tuesday morning.

It has now been confirmed that a boy sustained minor injuries and a pregnant woman has been taken to hospital as a precaution.

"Police were called to the A3075 at Chiverton Cross at around 8.45am this morning with reports of an RTC and a vehicle on its roof.

"Road closed at B3284 as vehicle is recovered. Drivers should avoid area if possible.

"Incident ongoing."

They later added: "There were two occupants of the car; a boy sustained minor injuries and a pregnant woman has been taken to hospital as a precaution for a scan."

The road has now reopened in both directions.

"A3075 in both directions re-opened, traffic returned to normal, accident cleared between B3284 and the Coldharbour turn-off."
