CCTV released after armed robbery in Cornish village

Police have revealed more information and CCTV after an armed robbery in a quiet Cornish village on the Lizard.

Officers say a man wearing a balaclava, black coat and wellies targeted was carrying a double barrelled shotgun.

He took cash and tobacco from the Spar shop in Mullion on Saturday morning and then fled the scene towards the churchyard.

Police say it was an isolated incident and are reassuring the public.

But anyone who knows anything or who saw what happened is being urged to get in touch.

"At 6.20am on Saturday 14th March 2020, an unknown man entered the Spar Convenience Store in Churchtown, Mullion with a double barrelled shotgun. He made a demand and left the store with cash and tobacco.

"The man was last seen heading in the direction of the Churchyard.

"He is described as being over 6 feet tall, possibly in his thirties and was wearing a full face balaclava, black coat and wellies.

"Police are keen to reassure the public that this is being treated as an isolated incident."

Police are appealing for witnesses who may have information in relation to this incident or knows the identity of the man in the photo to please call 101 and quote crime reference CR/22311/20. Alternatively CrimeStoppers can be contacted on 0800 555111.
