School says it remains open after staff member self-isolates

Published by the Pirate FM News Team at 2:20pm 17th March 2020.

A school in Redruth has said it will remain open after a member of staff has been forced to self-isolate due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Pennoweth School says it has contacted Public Health England who advised that the school should remain open at this moment in time.

It is after reports that children were being sent home from the school.

"We can confirm that, earlier today, a member of staff decided to self-isolate following medical advice.

"We contacted Public Health England, are following their advice and Pennoweth School remains open.

"We would advise parents to check school websites for the latest information about any of our schools.

"We will also continue to keep parents up to date through regular communication."

Simon Hague, Chief Executive, Crofty Multi Academy Trust
