A 22-year-old shop assistant in Penzance was taken to hospital following an assault.

Police were called to Pound Stretcher at St Michael's Retail Park on Sunday 16th February at around 3.45pm

A man selected a box of washing tablets before leaving the store without paying.

When challenged by staff outside he became violent, punching the shop assistant in the face causing him injuries which required hospital treatment.

The suspect then made off in a silver Ford KA, which had a front missing wheel trim.

Police say they would like to speak to the man pictured because he is thought to have vital information which could assist their enquiries.

Anyone who recognises the man or has any other information which could help is asked to call police on 101 quoting, CR/14120/20.
