East Cornwall GP practices need urgent public support

Published by the Pirate FM News Team at 7:46am 3rd April 2020.

GP surgeries across East Cornwall say they are in urgent need of public support amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The East Cornwall Primary Care Network is asking for members of the public to help source any of the items listed below.

Items such as hand sanitiser have been in high demand across the Duchy and the rest of the UK following the news of the Covid-19 outbreak a few weeks ago.

What are the items?

1.  Hand sanitiser - All its surgeries have a desperate shortage of hand sanitizer. If you have any spare, even single bottles or know of larger quantities for sale, please contact them, as a matter of urgency.

2. Its practice locations across the whole of East Cornwall have an urgent need to create temporary consultation rooms. This is in order for them to be able to help patients with suspected coronavirus symptoms, without having to compromise the entire GP surgery.

To achieve this, it is looking for any companies or individuals that may have any large trailers, vans, shipping containers or similar sized temporary structures that it can temporarily convert to on-site consultation rooms.

"We do realise the nature and size of these requests and we hope that by reaching out to the wider public we may be able to continue to provide our communities with the very best quality of care, whilst keeping our staff safe."

Spokesperson from East Cornwall Primary Care Network
