Man suffers potentially life-threatening injuries in crash

A man has suffered potentially life-threatening injuries after a crash involving a tractor near Falmouth.

Police say a car and a tractor towing a trailer collided near Mawnan Smith on Saturday morning.

Paramedics, firefighters and officers were all called to the scene.

A 46-year-old man suffered injuries to his upper body which have been described as potentially life-changing or life-threatening.

An investigation of the scene was carried out and anyone who saw what happened or who has dashcam footage is being asked to come forward.

"At approximately 10:28 hours on Saturday 4th April 2020, Devon and Cornwall Police received a call from members of the public stating that there had been a road traffic collision on Penwarne Road near Mawnan Smith, Falmouth.

"The collision involved a car and a tractor towing a trailer.

"South Western Ambulance Service Trust resources attended the scene along with staff from Cornwall Fire and Rescue.

"As a result of the collision a 46-year-old male received upper body injuries, thought to be potentially life changing/life threatening.

"Local Police Officers, operations department officers and specialist officers from the roads policing team attended the scene, closed the road and launched a full examination of the scene.

"Police are requesting that any witnesses with any information and or dash camera footage are to please come forward, unless they have already been in contact with officers at the scene."
