Fire breaks out in residential care home in Camborne

A casualty has been treated for smoke inhalation after a fire broke out in a care home in Camborne.

Firefighters from Tolvaddon and Hayle got the shout just before 7.30am on Wednesday along with paramedics.

A blaze had broken out in a bedroom in the residential care home.

Crews used a hose reel jet and a covering jet to put the fire out around 20 minutes later.

"Two appliances from Tolvaddon and one from Hayle responded to a confirmed fire in a residential care home.

"The first attending crew confirmed there was a fire within a bedroom and proceeded to extinguish the fire using breathing apparatus, a hose reel jet and a covering jet.

"Crews confirmed the fire was out by 07:45.

"One casualty was treated by firefighters and paramedics for smoke inhalation."
