First act for Eden Sessions 2021 is confirmed

Published by Sarah Yeoman at 12:01pm 21st April 2020.

The Script are the first act to be announced for the 2021 Eden Sessions line-up.

Pirate FM told you how this year's gigs have had to be cancelled because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Now bosses are working hard to try and secure artists and reschedule them for next summer instead.

The Script had been due to play in front of the Eden Biomes on July 15th, 2020. They will now perform at the Cornish biomes on July 14th 2021 instead.

Eden is contacting all existing ticket purchasers with details. Original tickets remain valid for The Script and any other show that is rescheduled.

“We’re thrilled to be able to announce The Script for the Eden Sessions 2021.

"We look forward to welcoming the band almost exactly a year on from the day they would have played for what we’re sure will be a massive highlight of the Sessions season.”

Rita Broe, managing director of Eden Sessions Ltd

The band are riding high after their sixth studio album Sunsets & Full Moons reached number one in the charts last November.

Having returned with the emotive first single The Last Time, Sunsets & Full Moons is the sound of The Script, namely Danny O’Donoghue (vocals, piano, guitar), Mark Sheehan (vocals, guitars) and drummer Glen Power.

The album focusses on the inclusive, uplifting songwriting that helped The Script become an arena-filling band with a fervent fan base the world over.

Danny O’Donoghue, who is also well known as a coach on the first two series of The Voice UK, rates the album the most poignant they have made.

He said: “Our music was always about being together with the audience, and writing about your own feelings, and sharing them.”

The band embrace the unifying power of the simple things - killer hooks, insistent melodies and stirring sentiments.

Last year’s Eden Sessions line-up saw Stereophonics, Nile Rodgers & Chic, Liam Gallagher, The Chemical Brothers and Kylie Minogue (two nights) play the Eden stage. Also, to mark the 100th Session, Nile Rodgers and Doves led a galaxy of stars at a special anniversary concert.
