Public tennis courts in Truro have been reopened today following changes in advice about the coronavirus.

Truro City Council announced that the courts at Boscawen Park would be reopened.

However while the courts will reopen the cafe and tennis pavilion will remain closed. Public toilets at the park are open.

The decision to reopen the courts comes after the Government announced changes to its guidance during the covi-19 crisis.

Under the new rules the government said that people could take part in outdoor sports such as tennis and golf, provided that social distancing guidelines are observed.

In its announcement about the tennis courts Truro City Council stated on its Facebook page: “Following the latest Government Guidance in relation to the Covid-19 pandemic, Truro City Council’s Boscawen Park Tennis Courts will now re-open from today (13th May 2020).

“Singles and doubles can be played by members of the same households together. Singles can be played by one individual with another individual from another household whilst maintaining appropriate social distancing.”
To book the tennis courts go to the website https://clubspark.lta.org.uk/BoscawenPark
Payments can be made online and there are also membership options available.
