Thousands more people are listening to Pirate FM!

We want to say a big thank you, as the latest independent audience figures show Pirate FM has more listeners than any other local radio station in Cornwall.

Thousands more people have been tuning-in over the last three months, and now three out of every five people in our area listen to Pirate FM.

In fact, people are listening in for 1.15 million hours every week!

The data reveals that 162,000 of you are listening to us each week, and 302,000 of you across every 13 weeks. And you're listening for longer too - Wow!

These figures come from RAJAR - a body jointly owned by commercial radio and the BBC - which is the industry standard for listening figures.

The latest figures cover the first quarter of the year from January to March.

“Pirate FM just got bigger…again!

"I say a huge thank you to every person that makes the decision to switch us on. We know just how much local people value our News and information and the fun we have along the way, and I can honestly say that the entire on-air, News and Content team work harder every single day to keep entertaining our amazing audience.

"And during what has been a time of great challenge due to Coronavirus, we’ve seen large increases to our website and online listening platforms as people looked for reliable local news and information – thanks for being part of the crazy journey!

"Cornwall really is the greatest place in the world, and I’m so glad we have more people joining-us as we keep the music playing, keep the fun going and help local businesses recover from lockdown”.

Neil Caddy, Content Controller at Pirate FM
