Crash leaves biker in hospital with life-threatening injuries

A biker has been rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries after a crash in Cornwall.

A van and motorbike collided at Indian Queens just before 9pm on Saturday night.

Emergency services were called to the scene on the A392 between the Halloon roundabout and Newquay.

The 55-year-old biker from the Newquay area was taken to hospital and two other people also suffered minor injuries.

Anyone who saw what happened, or who has dashcam footage, is being asked to contact officers who are investigating.

"At approximately 8.50pm on Saturday 16th May police were called to a two vehicle Road Traffic Collision on the A392 at Indian Queens between Halloon roundabout and Newquay.

"A black Yamaha FZS 600 and a White Ford Transit Custom collided at the location. As a result of the collision, the 55-year-old male rider of the motorcycle from the Newquay area was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries.

"The 27 year-old male driver of the Van from the Merthyr Tydfil area and the 22-year-old male passenger from the Newport area suffered minor injuries.

"Local officers as well as Officers from the Roads Policing Team attended the scene."

The police are requesting any witnesses or persons with dash cam footage of the incident to please contact 101 quoting the Log number 807 16/05/20.
