St Austell: police arrest two following suspected burglary

Police were called at 11.35pm on Tuesday 2 June following reports of a suspected burglary in progress at a builder's yard on Holmbush Road, St Austell.

One man was arrested while a second man was seen to run from the scene.

Police officers, along with a dog unit and the police helicopter, carried out an area search.

A second suspect was located at an address in St Austell a short time later.

A quantity of suspected stolen timber was located within a vehicle on Holmbush Road.

A 38-year-old man from St Austell has been arrested on suspicion of burglary and a 21-year-old man from Par was arrested on suspicion of theft. Both remain in custody at this time.
