Cornwall to get first drive-in cinema in England since lockdown

Published by the Pirate FM News Team at 3:28pm 15th June 2020. (Updated at 7:04am 16th June 2020)

The Government has announced that drive-in cinemas are allowed in the latest lockdown lift - and Cornwall is at the front of the queue.

The Pickwick Inn, St Issey, said it will be hosting the first event in England since lockdown.

It's teamed up with Box Projects to show The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

"People can join us in our sea-view meadow for magical, drive-in cinematic experience from the safety of your own car," said Natalie from the Inn.

Movie-goers can pre-order a movie take-away online to click and collect, with dirty fries, dogs, popcorn and drink available.

The showing will be held on Friday, June 19, with gates open at 6.30pm.

But the film won't start until 10pm - so people can watch the sun set from the beautiful location.

Advance tickets only. See the Pickwick Facebook page for details.
