Urgent appeal in Cornwall to help save tiny injured kitten's leg

Published by Sarah Yeoman at 6:26am 17th June 2020.

An urgent appeal has gone out to try and save the leg of a tiny injured kitten in Cornwall.

Seven-week-old Buffy is being looked after at Clay County Cat Care near St Austell.

The team need to find funds for her operation and an expert surgeon by this Friday, or the kitten's leg will have to be amputated.

Buffy has been hand-reared from just two weeks old and has been clinging onto life. But she has a broken rear knee cap which needs urgent surgery.

The rescue team there is a chance her leg can still be saved but the operation alone will cost £3,000, plus the other vet appointments and treatments she has already had.

Anyone who can help donate towards Buffy's operation cost is asked to do so here.

Seven-week-old Buffy needs urgent surgery to help save one of her rear legs

"Time is running out to save Buffy’s leg. We have just a few days to find the funds for an expert surgeon to save the seven week old’s rear leg or it will have to be removed completely.

"This little fighter has already gone through so much. She had to be hand reared from two weeks old and has clung to life.

"Then she was dealt another terrible blow when she suffered a broken rear knee cap.

"There is a chance her leg can be saved so she has a chance to a normal life but we need the funds urgently to pay for a surgeon.

"This has to be done by Friday or the leg will have to be amputated to prevent further problems and pain.

"Please, please help Buffy now. If all our supporters just donated a pound or two we could make a big difference but there isn’t much time."
