Motorcyclist dies after crash on A39 near Wadebridge

A motorcyclist has died after a crash on the A39 at Wadebridge.

The air ambulance, police and paramedics were called to the scene near the viaduct at around 9.45am on Sunday morning.

The man had been found unconscious at the side of the road after having come off his motorbike.

CPR was carried out at the scene but sadly he could not be saved.

Anyone who saw what happened or who has any information is being asked to contact officers.

"At approximately 9.45am on Sunday 21st June 2020, Devon & Cornwall Police received details from SWASFT ambulance control that there had been a collision on the A39 near Wadebridge. The location of the incident was adjacent to the viaduct at Wadebridge.

"Ambulance staff including air ambulance paramedics had located an unconscious male at the roadside. He appeared to have become unseated from a silver Honda motorcycle.

"Paramedics including an off duty paramedic carried out CPR at the roadside but sadly the male was declared deceased."
