Rick Stein's seafood restaurant in Porthleven is closing permanently.

A statement has been released on the celebrity chef's official website to confirm the news.

Bosses say they are "very sad" that the restaurant will not be reopening and are thanking customers for their support.

Rick Stein still has restaurants across Padstow, as well as in Falmouth, St Merryn and Newquay.

"We are very sad to announce that our restaurant in Porthleven will not be reopening.

"We would like to thank all our customers who have supported us there over the years.

"We hope you will find your way to our other restaurants where perhaps we can share fond memories of nights overlooking the romantic harbour in Porthleven."
