Praise for Cornish security guard who helped dog in the rain

Praise is flooding in for a supermarket security guard from Cornwall who held an umbrella over a dog in the rain.

The photo, which was taken outside a Morrison's store in Scotland, has been going viral online.

It shows 23-year-old Ethan Dearman at work, holding an umbrella over a golden retriever who is patiently waiting for its owner.

Ethan grew up in St Austell and moved to Scotland several years ago, his family says he has always been an animal lover.

This is the photo which has received thousands of interactions across social media...

His auntie Emma, who lives in Par, told Pirate FM how they are all very proud.

"He's always been a kind and caring little soul, he was seen as a child walking to school and picking up a snail in the rain and putting it on a wall, so it didn't get stood on. He's just so kind and caring, he always has been.

"His grandmother, when he was a child growing up, had two golden retrievers. So I think it was kind of a back in time thing for Ethan as well, he would play with his trains in his grandma's lounge and the dog's would always watch but never touch. He's always been an animal lover.

"It's amazing to see how many people are supporting him, and saying how proud they are to see that there are still young men, and the younger generation, that do still care so much about something that some people would just take as a dog out in the rain."
