St Austell Brewery to reopen all its pubs on Saturday

Published by Sarah Yeoman at 8:35am 1st July 2020.

St Austell Brewery is reopening all of its managed pubs across Cornwall on Saturday 4th July.

Over 100 of the company’s tenanted pubs – which are run by self-employed publicans – will reopen this weekend along with pubs across the country.

Led by the Government’s new guidelines for hospitality, St Austell Brewery has introduced a number of extra measures to make sure customers are safe.

“We’re delighted to be reopening our managed estate from 4th July. We’ve been busy preparing and have invested in new measures to keep our pub teams and guests safe.

“Our customers may notice some small differences when they come back and see us, but our usual warm welcome hasn’t changed. Even in these unusual times, we can offer the same delicious food, fresh draught beers, great hospitality and a proper pub experience.

“We know for so many, pubs play an important role at the very heart of communities. We’re looking forward to welcoming people back this Saturday.”

Steve Worrall, Managing Director of St Austell Brewery’s Pubs, Inns and Hotels

What safety measures will be in place?

In addition to being able to pre-book tables online, guests will be welcomed at the door on arrival and shown to their seat.

Customers will have the option of table service or using the Brewery’s new ‘Easy Orders’ app, to pay for their food and drink.

The company has introduced one-way systems, to encourage social distancing, and tables will be spaced apart by at least one metre.

St Austell Brewery’s pub teams are being trained in cleanliness and hygiene and there will be a team member dedicated to regular cleaning procedures, throughout the day.

Customers will also be encouraged to pay by card and make regular use of hand sanitiser stations throughout the pub.

The Rock Point Inn in Lyme Regis, St Austell Brewery’s first managed house in Dorset, will open for the first time in mid-July.
