A cyclist has died after colliding with a lorry in west Cornwall

A cyclist has died after colliding with a lorry on the A30 at St Erth.

Emergency services were called to the scene just before midday on Thursday July 2nd.

The air ambulance was also called and the road closures were put in place.

Sadly the man could not be saved and he died at the scene. His family has been told.

Anyone who saw what happened is being asked to contact officers.

"Police were notified by the Ambulance Service at around 11.30am this morning to reports of a serious collision between a lorry and a cyclist at the St Erth Roundabout in Hayle.

"Officers along with the Air Ambulance attended the scene and road closures were put in place.

"A male cyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
