Trailer carrying cattle overturns on A39 near Wadebridge

It has been confirmed that no animals were injured after a trailer carrying cattle overturned on the A39 in Cornwall.

Twelve cows were inside when the trailer ended up on its side near Wadebridge.

Police and firefighters were called to the scene at the Ball roundabout at around 6.45am.

The tractor driver was unharmed and the cows were safely transferred into another trailer.

"Firefighters from Wadebridge, Bodmin and a flexi-duty officer responded to an overturned trailer at Ball roundabout in Wadebridge.

"On arrival the crew discovered no persons to be trapped but twelve cows within the trailer.

"The crew assisted with scene safety as the cows were safely transported from one trailer to another.

"Thankfully no cows were injured during this incident.

"Police were called at 6.45am today to Ball roundabout following reports that a trailer carrying cattle had overturned.

"The trailer was located standing on two wheels on police arrival.

"The cattle was transferred safely to another trailer and no animals were injured.

"The road has been cleared."
