Man taken to hospital after 'stabbing' in Redruth

A man has been taken to hospital after an alleged stabbing in Redruth.

Armed officers were called to the scene in the Fore Street area on Sunday morning.

Police say a 25-year-old local man suffered non-life threatening wounds to his leg and was taken to hospital.

A search of the scene was carried out and a 31-year-old man from Manchester was arrested.

He has now been bailed until next month pending further enquiries.

"Police were called to Fore Street, Redruth, at around 10.45am yesterday morning, Sunday 19th July, with a report that a man had been stabbed.

"A 25-year-old man from Redruth was taken to hospital to be treated for non-life threatening wounds to his leg.

"Armed police officers conducted a search of the scene and a local address where a 31-year-old man from Manchester was subsequently arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm.

"He has been bailed until 14th August pending further enquiries."
