St Piran's Flag could fly at the South Pole for the first time.

Sergeant Vic Vicary from Falmouth has packed it for a race across the Antarctic.

He and five others are lugging 160 kilos of kit each, as they re-create the Scott-Amundsen expeditions.

The ex-Rifles man says training has been grueling...

“Temperatures reaching, over the wind chill, probably minus 70. We faced that in Norway. We've practiced, because there are crevasses, big deep holes out there. We need to prepare ourselves if we do fall down one, to get ourselves back out of there"

"We're all veterans; we've been to Iraq,Afghanistan. I've been to Bosnia. I think we're all mentally focused and ready for that"

The teams are doing it to try and raise half a million pounds for the Royal British Legion.
