Cornish Hosital Closes to Admissions

A Cornish hospital stops admitting patients.
Poltair in St Austell says it is facing a serious shortage of qualified nurses.
Bosses are still treating people already on the wards, but say rumours the site could shut are making it hard to find new staff.
In a statement, health bosses said: "Senior management is working with local staff to resume a normal service as soon as possible. In the short-term we are looking at block booking a number of staff from both contingent workforce and agency until such time as staffing levels return to normal. However, from past experience we know that this is not sustainable because of the need to maintain continuity of care."
