Speed Limit Could be 80mph

(Updated 12:56pm 20th December 2011)
The speed limit on the A38 and A30 could be raised to 80mph.
The government has confirmed plans for motorways would also apply to dual carriageways.
But campaigners in Cornwall call that crazy and warn it will cost lives.
Rik Jones has already gathered more than a thousand signatures, asking for accident blackspots on the A38 to be sorted out.
He said, "Expect high fatalities. There are going to be a lot more accidents. The roads are just not designed for that speed limit in Cornwall. Unless you go on the A30 Victoria way, that's the only stretch of road I would even consider doing eight miles an hour on."12:56pm 20th December 2011
