A Camborne teenager is found guilty of attempted murder.

Tyler Fielding punched, kicked, and repeatedly stamped on Victor King after a night out last summer, as he lay bleeding on the floor.

The 16 year old had admitted wounding but said he never meant to kill anyone.

Now he has been convicted at Truro Crown Court.

Jurors heard how the attack has left Victor King seriously disabled and totally dependent on his wife.

The 51 year old suffered fractures to his eye, face and jaw. In a statement he said, “I am disgusted at what has happened to me. I did not deserve it, my life will never be the same again”.

His attacker will be sentenced next month.

Senior Investigating officer, Detective inspector Stuart Ellis said, "On the evening of 15th May 2011 Mr King was subjected to a vicious and unprovoked attack in the town centre of Redruth. Tyler Fielding has today been convicted of attempted murder.  The attacker appeared to be completely out of control having consumed alcohol and used an extraordinary level of violence against his victim who was chosen completely at random.
Mr King’s life was only saved by the prompt actions of a passing member of the public and excellent work by the ambulance crew who were very quickly on the scene."
