Minimum Alcohol Price "Not Enough"
9:56am 28th December 2011
Campaigners warn setting a minimum price for alcohol is not enough.
There are reports the government wants to do it now, in a bid to curb binge drinking.
Cider and spirits would see the biggest rise.
St Austell alcohol counsellor Jacqui Bedingham says the drink to celebrate attitude has to change: "So it's OK to get drunk because it's Christmas, it's New Year, there's a birth, there's a marriage and even if there's a death. Until we change our attitude and we educate our younger people, our next generation of the dangers of alcohol, I can't really see there being much movement".
