Cornwall and Plymouth are warned it could be a slippy drive to work for the next couple of days.

The Met Office has put out a severe weather warning for ice on Wednesday morning. It said, "Clearing skies will then lead to ice developing and the public should be aware that extra care will be needed on untreated roads and pavements."

It is as the southwest drops into the big freeze.

A fleet of gritters has been salting across Bodmin Moor, along the north coast and west Cornwall.

Forecasters say temperatures will fall below zero for the next couple of nights while, during the day, they will struggle to rise about 3C.
