There are calls for St Piran's Day to be a national holiday for Cornwall.

The Stannary Parliament says it has passed a law under Freedom of Expression.

Officials claim the Duchy is not part of Britain and that because of that, it should be allowed the freedom to have its own national holiday.

Secretary Jill Fox says, "They don't have to have the day off if they don't want it, but I think they should able to if they want it and be paid for it. The right was given to us by the European Convention of Human Right which gives us the right to Freedom of Expression. I think this is Freedom of Expression".
