Cornwall honours its Local Heroes.

At a glittering ceremony the people who make a difference to lives in the Duchy have been revealed.

They include Kayleigh Bray from Redruth whose work with young people has kept them out of trouble on the streets.

And seven year old Oceanna Thomas who, despite a kidney transplant, has dedicated herself to raising money for other poorly children.

Also awarded at the Pirate FM bash in Newquay, Linda and Colin Wheeldon who have fostered 38 children in the last seven years:

Colin said:

"We wanted to give something back to other people. Because it's not just the children, it's the parents and even the grandparents that it can affect as well."
